COSS Weekly Volume Report: Week 2 (June 11 to June 18)

in cossio •  6 years ago

Hi all,

Another week, another COSS Weekly Volume Report! The report of last week seemed to be well-received so I guess I have to continue ;)

Overview of Volume

Average Total 24h volume ($) for this week was 1.717 M (-40%), with a maximum of 3.524 M and a minumum of 0.88 M. Total trading volume over this week was 11.624 M. We had the highest trading volumes in the beginning of the week, with a maximum at the end of the PGT-promo on Tuesday.

Below you can see the 24h trading volume since the start of data collection (May 27). You can clearly see the correlate between peak volumes and the end of the CRED, LAN, FXT and PGT promos. Average 24h volume ($) over this period was 2.113M.

Average 24h volume ($) for the ETH-BTC pair was 21,181 $ (+1%). The ETH-BTC pair is probably the most important pair for the exchange. High liquidity on this pair opens up a lot of arbitrage opportunities for e.g. bots. On the graph below, I indicated the time at which both the CELTbot and an arbitrage bot were functional. The CELTbot provided liquidity on the ETH-BTC pair, which made it possible for the arbitrage bot to do COSS-Binance arbitrage. This lead to an increase of the ETH-BTC volume during the next days (until CELTbot ran out of liquidity?). This nicely illustrates the effect bots can have on the volume. Average 24h volume ($) for the FIAT pairs was 21,326 $ (+100%). Fiat volume doubled compared to last week. Ten new USD pairs got added on Wednesday (BCH, ICX, ZEN, DASH, EOS, LSK, OMG, ARK, XEM & WAVES). Together with the lowering of the minimum USD deposit to 500$, this should result in increased FIAT volume in the next few weeks.

Fee Split Allocation

This week's snapshot for the Token-Based Fee Split Allocation was taken at Ethereum block 5809771. The FSA USD value per COSS reported on the dashboard is still the same as last two weeks (0.000096634311 $). Seems that the value per USD has not been updated yet. However, FSA for this week is already out. This means we cannot calculate the total fees collected by COSS, or the average trading fees :(. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.

Promos

This week, the PGT promo ended. At the moment, there are 3 active promo's (BWT, XNK & UFR). These promo's are nearing their end (in approx. 1 week), and it seems volume is already picking up!

Community Initiatives

Finally, I want to take the chance to point out other community initiatives.

CELT Bot: Spielley's bot that reduces the spread of all the pairs on the exchange. You can buy CELT tokens to provide liquidity to the bot. Value of CELT increases week per week, so if you want to support the COSS exchange, go for it.
More information on the CELT steemit:

COSSbot: A group of people that are in the process of creating a free bot to trade on COSS. You can find the last COSSbot Development Update here: https://medium.com/@jimmydeal/cossbot-development-update-2-17dd351de94
