My sister and I had the opportunity to visit Costa Rica in August of 2017 and I was so impressed with all the wonderful things I saw and the exciting adventure we both shared. Monteverde Cloud Forest was magnificent. We went on a "gondola ride" and saw beautiful fauna, flora, trees, fascinating plants, and interesting and unusual animals. One animal I saw was a "tapir"! Very unusual looking animal. Looks like half pig and half horse. Very gentle animals. Walked around the park harming no one and tourists just left them alone. Our guide was wonderful. She taught us a lot about bio-diversity. Bulletproof vests made of spider webs, insects that die and come alive again as another animal, poisonous frogs and snakes. I felt like I was "Jane" in the "jungle" without Tarzan! The government of Costa Rica does not have a military and all of the money goes towards educating their people! Amazing and most impressive. I will return one day as the feeling I had when I was in Costa Rica was a feeling that is indescribable....and something inside me tells me that I need to go back to make a connection with nature and its animals again.
