I am @shortsegments and I live in Hawaii. This is my application to be country curator for Hawaii. While the Kingdom of Hawaii is technically a territory of the a United States, it continues to be a separate 7 island based Polynesian culture, which most people in the world think of as a separate country. Hawai’i is a very unique and popular tourist destination, which guarantees interest on a Twitter for my stories about Hawai’i which indirectly promotes Steem. I have 175 followers on Twitter. I have been an active content creator on Steemit for over two years. I speak English, some Hawaiian, some Spanish, some French and some Filipino. I am involved with three Communities as Administrator : FlowersPictures, BankingandFinance and Steemit Explained. I created those three Communities to provide a separate place where people with those interests could go to post and curate posts they are interested in. I support the content creators of those Communities with upvotes from my personal account and I have created separate accounts dedicated to growing Steem Power to upvote and increase retention of both the content creators and the content consumers by increasing the post rewards through upvotes, and since the rewards are divided between both the content creators and consumers, the upvotes should increase retention of both content creators and content consumers. Additionally I curate content on other communities looking for content creators to support and invite to my community.
I am applying for Country Curator because I think Hawaii a place with its own unique culture, language and history.
Additionally, Hawaii is a top tourism destination and posts about Hawai’i would bring more outsiders to Steemit. I enjoy creating content about Hawai’i and I would love to create more. Lastly, there are several Hawaiian Steemians and it would be nice to give them a place to post Hawai’i related content, so people interested in Hawaii would have a one place to go to enjoy pictures about Hawai’i.

I read about Hawai’i in school. I even went there once. It’s beautiful, but looks so different from the pictures and advertisements.
