Plato & Islamic Philosophy

in courage •  4 months ago

Good morning family!!!

Al-Kindi, considered to be the founder of Islamic peripatetic philosophy, said, "One must not be afraid of new ideas, no matter the source. And we must never fear the truth, even when it pains us." Similarly, Plato believed,"Courage is knowing what not to fear."

The cool thing about growth as a person is being able to grow, even when the pain is great enough. Courage is facing our fears, standing up for what we believe in, challenging assumptions, speaking our truths, admitting when we're wrong, and admitting when we need help.
