I was looking at what I could see on Amazon Prime and I came across this movie, whose release I think it was a bit missing because I had no idea of its existence, the premise was quite interesting: Benedikt Cumberbatch in a story about one of the most important events of the last century, that is, a story based on real events: the missile crisis, so of course I had to see it, satisfactorily expectations were met.

The movie tells the story of an English trader who used to travel a lot to Eastern Europe, that's why the British intelligence service decides to entrust him with the mission of doing business with the person in charge of a nuclear program in order to spy on him and obtain information to be one step ahead of the Soviets and stop a global catastrophe.

What could go wrong?

Despite being a very serious and dramatic film, I found it very curious how Cumberbatch developed his character, because you really feel how he changes as he gains confidence in his missions, at first he was always very nervous and paranoid of being noticed and then he begins to act with confidence. Also noteworthy is the performance of Merab Ninidze who plays Oleg, who must comply with Soviet orders but at the same time try to leak as much information as possible to avoid the worst. I continue with the praises to Cumberbatch is that he was really 10/10, in a certain part of the film he was imprisoned in a gulag and you can really feel how his soul is breaking with the passage of time in captivity coupled with torture, are heartbreaking scenes.

On the other hand the production is good, the cinematography is very well done, you feel that we are in the 60's, of course, all this added with an impeccable makeup and costumes. If I have to criticize something to the film is that despite being short (111min) at a certain point it becomes a little heavy to digest by the sequences, but it is something you would expect from this film due to its genre and the story they are telling, there can not be big jumps in time, everything must happen slowly.
