What's Up With Italy?

What's going on with the death rate in Italy? It's likely the same thing that was up last year, and the year prior, and the one before that. Evidently people have been dying from respiratory illnesses there for quite some time.

Respiratory infection kills 3 million per year, the label 'Covid-19' has packaged it up for visual recognition and given it a new name.

Upon further inspection of those 3 million, there are underlying health conditions that the lung infection tips the scale.

Italy has the highest number of elderly, per capita, worldwide.
150k+, per year dying pre Covid-19.
