The fringe right these days..

The new thing on the fringe right is to say that if you're still getting paid or are wealthy enough not to need to be paid every two weeks, you're not allowed to criticize these right wing protests.

Of course that's ridiculous, but two things especially stick out:

  1. They've made no showing (of course) that the people at these protests are people who are destitute. In fact, the great mass them who are running to cameras seem to be demanding that the stores re-open so that they can shop at them, not so they can work at them. The people out there demanding seeds and fertilizer and hair cuts are demanding that other people go back to work, not that they themselves be allowed to do so. And obviously anybody who is old and on a fixed income (like a substantial portion of Fox News' audience) is still receiving their check.

  2. Where the hell was this empathy when persecuted people were protesting against hundreds of years of public and private terrorism directed at their communities? When people were asserting the simple premise that their lives mattered? Why do we have to listen to emotional (and unsupported, as noted in 1.) appeals about this from the same people who gleefully encouraged people to run over BLM protesters?

Sorry rightwingers, after the last 4 years your days of ever being taken seriously while appealing to empathy or liberty or concern for the poor are so over. NOBODY is ever going to believe you care about any of that again.
