LA has just announced that shelter-in-place will continue another three months. To what end? Supposedly to prevent further spread of the virus. But we're told there's no real solution to that until there's a vaccine, assumed to be a year to a year-and-a-half away, so is the plan to extend the policy until sometime in 2021?
New York already says it doesn't have the money to reopen, and Oregon's governor says the Western States PACT (OR, CA, WA) need a trillion dollars. Multiply that by the rest of the country and by ... two times as long, six times as long? The Federal government doesn't have that kind of money. Modern monetary theorists aside, it's not a magic bank that creates money for free.
