There are no real rules regarding Covid-19/Corona in Sweden. We have various recommendations instead. We blindly believe that everyone can and will take responsibility.

One of the recommendations was to distance yourself from others. A minimum of 1.5 meter, but they often talked about 2 meters whenever we've heard or read about it in the news.

The photo above is from yesterday when I was going to work. I'm on the bus to work and you can clearly see a lot of empty seats. It was different today though. I couldn't take a photo of it, but it was crowded today..

This photo is taken when I got off the bus. The end station. This is where I work:

It's not the best photo in the world, but it should at least give you an indication of how many people there were. All of these people are Hospital personnel.

  • Safety distance?

We've even heard that the safety distance is 4 meters from today. And, we also heard that Hospital personnel might carry the virus on their shoes...

Irresponsible twits. They hospital personnel...

Is there a lack of protective gear like face masks and stuff in hospitals? The authority in our country that was supposed to see to it that the strategic storages had enough of this type of supplies had been sleeping on the job. They were scrambling to buy them from China and had to resort to shady businessmen who supplied crap.

Is there a lack of protective gear like face masks and stuff in hospitals?

Yes and no. I mean, I think we have a decent supply but if things get worse, we'll run out of it rather quickly. That being said, I work in the psychiatry department and we don't have any safety gear at all. No masks or anything. We use gloves when we serve meals. No more than that.

The thing we've heard so far is: "If and/or when a patient have symptoms". Which basically means that we will start to use safety gear if or when a patient has symptoms. But not before that.

In the psych department it would be much less critical to avoid contagion.

The one good thing about this crisis is that it has shown the weaknesses is our preparation.
