After spending the last two weeks trying very hard to share measured, well-sourced, evidence-backed information regarding the pandemic, I just took a look at the President of the United States' twitter feed.
I had to just look away, or I'll be too furious to get any sleep tonight.
Unless your name is Donald Trump, do not, for the love of god, take hydroxychloroquine as either a treatement or a prophylaxis for COVID-19, either by itself or in combination with any other drug, without the direct supervision of a physician and after the clinical trials have been run.
Since hydroxychloroquine is available over the counter, it's a matter of time before desperate people start dropping dead (or going blind, or exhibiting psychosis) from trying to self-administer it. When that happens.... please don't send me the links. I don't want to know.
And all of our friends and loved ones with Lupus (and other autoimmune diseases)? They just lost access to their best therapeutic drug because idiots are panic buying it.
