i) The problem.

The article discusses about how the video game Defend of the Ancient 2 (DotA2) as a learning tool in language learning. In the article, researcher discusses about the issues that may be faced by students from their point of view. The first problem is the students’ motivation and capability. According to Liu and Huan (2011), students who had received English education through formal education tended to have an anxiety and did not have a high motivation in learning English resulting difficulties in memorizing English words. The second problem mentioned in the article is students' self-generated thoughts, feelings, and actions. Sometimes students feel uncomfortable with the way the teacher teaches them.

ii) The method used to address the problem.

Using the video game Defend of the Ancient 2 (DotA2) as a learning tool in language learning.

iii)What is the big deal about this?

Using video games as a learning tool is a big deal because they found that learning language using computer-based game could enhance learner’s communication’ skill better. This is because learners enjoy their time playing English based video game and at the same time gaining some experiences in learning English. Practicing language skill in this case means that the learner can communicate with other players by using written chat or voice chat. In this case, the researcher will investigate the benefits and challenges of learning English by using game as the learning media.

iv) Can it be applied in your classroom of the future?

Even though it is possible to learn language using video games, but I think it is not practical in classroom learning. It requires a lot of equipment such as gadgets and a good internet connection and sometimes that can steer away student’s attention. Therefore, I still think the traditional way or learning is the most practical way to learn in the classroom and video game based leaning are more suitable for student’s self learning at home.
