Once a craft beer wasteland, Bangkok is now seeing more varieties and options appear on supermarket shelves and bars around the city. It's a relative novelty for me to try different ones whenever I get a chance, but the thing is they are often quite pricey. often costing twice as much as a regular local beer due to the import taxes. SO....What are some that I should seek out and some to avoid. So far, I like the Hawaii beers I've tried the most. All advice appreciated from a fellow hops lover :)
Some of the ones I've tried so far: BrewDog IPA, Sierra "" Pale Ale, Boont Amber Ale, Blue Moon, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Longboard, and a few others I can't remember :)
If you can get Boont Amber, you should see if you can get Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout...it got me into craft beer many moons ago. A good gateway brew into some darker stuff, not bitter or very strong roast like some other dark beers that can be intimidating at first. Cheers!

I'll look out for it..Can't say I've seen it so far. I'm not into my darker brews yet, but I'm sure it will come with time. Thanks for the tip :)

Craft beer is massive in South Africa. If you can get hold of it, try out Jack Black. lovely and smooth.
