Our living room has a cabinet that was a magnet for clutter. Art supplies, photography equipment and electronic devices were everywhere!
Time: 2 Hours
Cost: $10
Difficulty: Easy
The living room also functions as my office, so I wanted a place where all my post-it notes, pencils, etc. could be stored with easy access. I found a desktop organizer online that I liked, but didn't like the price tag. I made my own with just one 1x6 board!
I cut my 1 x 6 board to roughly the same dimensions as the desktop organizer I found online. Then I drilled pocket holes in the ends of the longer boards.
I attached the longer boards together to form the shelves. The smaller boards are the supporting legs. You can find all the dimensions and plans for this project here.
I stained most of the organizer gray. The inside of the rectangle is painted white. The two sides are adjustable, so you can spread them out further or even turn one 90 degrees!
I was amazed at how much I could fit in such a small area! Now I always know where our stapler and paper clips are!
