Had a good time smiting and machining metal. Then I hit a few walls. Handles, sheaths, and a long lasting finish. A lot of the metal I used is scrap something. from phone oct 17 248.jpgfrom phone oct 17 249.jpgfrom phone oct 17 250.jpgfrom phone oct 17 251.jpg That is about when I hit the point where I knew I needed leather. I tried some feeble attempts, with some suede and wood...was bad. from phone oct 17 252.jpg those are belts. bad.
Then I made this LOR inspired shield.

from phone oct 17 253.jpg Turns out, its heavy. like 12 pounds. Needed a good way to hold it. from phone oct 17 254.jpg Which got me into leather. Using scraps. from phone oct 17 256.jpg from phone oct 17 257.jpg Those 3 curved blades and that orcish shield are all part of the same big stainless tub we pulled out of the ground. It used to be a little backyard pond. It was in there for over 30 years.
