Seems like forever since that picture was taken but it was only last February as we never really got much snow until the end of January and into February. They love to sledding so we were out doing a lot of that in February. This was another new hill for them to try out, it's not that large as much as it is steep so that's why it was on the to do when they could all handle it list.

We also trucked on down to a winter prism light show they had but it was rather dark and the pictures didn't turn out really well with my old camera. We did also go down to a ice sculpture show downtown but the weather had started to warm up and most of the sculptures you couldn't recognize.

All that love just radiating off him it warms my heart every time I look at it. He was younger than and we were at a craft store looking for clearance craft things for the kids to do when they come over. Then I took his binky...

...he was like okay I still love now can I have my binky back. Which then went to okay I still love you but no more smiles until I can have my binky.

We do a lot of crafts in the winter to keep us occupied. I would have done a post but most of the crafts we did this year was after Christmas during Christmas break because everyone kept getting sick between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This year we did those ornamental Christmas Trees. I bought the bulbs on clearance at the dollar store the Christmas prior when they clearance stuff out after Christmas. I bought the stuff for fifty cents a box. I couldn't find the Styrofoam cones so I used colored cardboard and made cones out of them.

You then take larger bulbs and you use a glue gun to attach them at the bottom and work your way upwards using smaller bulbs as you go along. Then you put hot glue in between the bulbs as you wound a garland around and in between the bulbs.

Every year we make different wreaths also. You can buy these really horrible looking (or skimpy) looking wreaths at the dollar store for fifty cents on clearance. We take cheap garland I buy and wrap around it then glue on pines cones and other decorations.

I also managed this year to get a great buy on one of those gingerbread Christmas houses. It was fun to put it together but believe me it is no where near as appetizing as it looks on the box...I highly recommend not trying to eat it, if you don't die from the sugar buzz you may not have any teeth left. lol.

That is how you create loads of fun for kids on the cheap. I usually do the same thing with other holidays. I go to the dollar store and buy the stuff on clearance after the holiday for the next years holidays.
