One of the side effects of the #newsteem is less engagement, less comments on people's posts. That's in part true because fewer authors keep rewarding people who engage with them on their posts…
Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
Disagreement on rewards
Fraud or plagiarism
Hate speech or trolling
Miscategorized content or spam
