DIY Individual Ice Sculptures to impress

I have tried many ways to do individual ice sculptures to add a little bit of WOW to a seafood salad or even cold dessert. After many failed or too timely attempts, I woke up one morning with an idea. It is easy and impressive. The end result never fails to impress the diner. Most people cannot even figure out how I did it, until I explain.

So here goes; You will need two balloons and some rice to balance the almost finished mold.

Put one balloon in the other. Be careful not to rip it.

Blow the middle balloon to the desired size. It takes some practice to get it right. Estimate the desired size by comparing with a small bowl.

Then tie the knot of the middle balloon, but don't let it slip inside.

Fill the outside balloon with cold water. You can overfill it slightly as you will loose some water later to get the air bubbles out.

Let the air bubbles out and 'bleed' it till the desired size. Slip the middle balloon inside and tie a knot with the outside balloon.
Balance on a plate with some rice and put in it in the freezer for a day.

After its been frozen solid, pop the balloons and peel off. The end result should be as follow:

Plate what ever you want. I have plated a seafood salad starter. You can play around with food coloring, but I like the natural look
