Homemade guitar: from a plank to being strummed.

Bonjour people!!!

Whenever I head out to the countryside in the Midlands, I always always explore Paul’s guitar collection and have a go at plucking a few strings, playing a guitar solo or two 😉. Perhaps later (or you could check Pauls Instagram account ,details below) I shall upload photos of this remarkable collection.

during this trip I had the opportunity to strum the strings of this beaut;

This guitar was made especially for a family friend who has multiple sclerosis and finds its difficult to otherwise hold a traditional shaped guitar. The talented Paul who is a blue's man put on his thinking hat and decided to make a gift for Richard, the friend..a gift that he knew he would LOVE (Paul).
He got a plank of wood, sanded it down and began to construct this guitar. It plays absolutely beautifully on its own, but can also be connected to an and have the sound amplified like an electric guitar--check out the sound on Paul's Instagram page, username: @lpafdm

For the finishing touches I stepped in. Using a blunt screw driver I etched in King Richard on the side to add a personal touch. Grabbing a wood burner (keeping all things wood eh) I burnt in the etching, giving it this charcoal toasty appearance.

It was an exciting and touching project to be a part of. Gifting someone to be able to use their body as best they can with any limitations that they have- to feel in control and manageable.
