The last three days I've been at the park. Kapiolani Park near Honolulu to be exact.
And it had been a while since I did something artistic or creative so I grabbed a staff I made from one of the island trees here, and I cut a couple chunks off of it.
What they turned into was a new original, hand carved pair of unique plugs for my gauged ears.
Not noodles, not fortune cookies either. LoL!
And here is me wearing them.
Please don't point out my tanlines, I know I keep getting sun burned with a tank on!
I love em, and working with my hands is rewarding and a great time always!

I would imagine that wood was pretty hard, which makes it difficult to carve. Nice work, and they look symmetrical, that's the difficult part, making one is easy, making two that look the same...not so much.

It just took a lot more time on the second one since I also screwed up and cut a bigger chunk to start with.
Patience and time was the key.
I'm kind of a perfectionist and kept picking up tools long after I said I was done! LoL!
I think I'll do another set, after I finish a set of standard tapers out of this same wood, I am going to do next. We'll see if I can keep the next set symemetrical with these! ;)
