Project model railway #27 - Let it snow

While I am working on my prject I got a cool idea for a new diorama: Playing in the snow

If you're a recurring visitor of my blog you may ask "But you already have a winter diorama".
And you're right. Sort of. The other winter diorama is a christmas market ( see https://steemit.com/creative/@wirago/project-model-railway-25-christmas-market-in-klein-waldberg) and (at least in Austria) those markets close after 24.12..

Since it is too early to come up with an spring setting I've decided to use something with snow.
So let's get started.

As always, I started with my oval shaped base.
For this diorama I wanted to have a small hill. To give it a proper shape I placed some additional wood an top an formed a slope with a mesh wire.

The finish is made with plaster. I tried to avoid modeling the slope too steep. We don't want our little people to die, right?
I also formed a little oval shape. I will explain it in a second...

The oval shape is there to represent a little ice skating rink.
To create the illusion of frozen water I added a bit of color and filled it up with resin.
After the resin dried completely it was time to let it snow

Time for the details!
As always I add figures and stuff to tell little stories:

not an olympic size but enough to try a few steps

Do you want to build a snowman...? Or rather get some snow in your face?

I hope the little guy on the left has his breaks ready

I miss that time of the year as a child

Allthough... it was rough sometimes

What's next?
I'll finish the major part of the project soon. More pictures and stories will come. I will also explain where the future of all this is going. Stay tuned!

So wonderful ! I love these dioramas of yours, they are always so magical to me, as if there's a miniature world that will come to life when we're not watching.... :) Gorgeous piece <3
