WHAT IS LOVE?
BABY, don't hurt me!
Dinner tonight: Steak Tips, Egg Noodles, and a Strawberry Avocado Salad.
Chicken tenderloins, marinated in Zesty Italian Dressing, some lemon juice, and some Balsamic Vinegar.
Egg Noodles with some butter (I use Earth Balance, the non dairy option is a bit easier on my digestion.)
In a large bowl, I made a rough chop of some baby spinach leaves, some sliced strawberries, fresh ground pepper, sea salt, and some avocado, cubed. I will spritz a little lemon juice for brightness and serve with a balsamic oil and vinegar dressing.
Family is ALWAYS important to me.
It's towards the end of summer. Both daughters head back for their last year of college, this coming weekend. But, last gasps of summer, they are here, on Cape Cod. So, with all of the kids arriving today, I pulled together a meal for all and we're laughing and chatting tonight. Well, at least until they all head into town for a drag show!

To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!

Family and love is important and to me, nothing says love more than a big meal around the table. Laughing, telling stories, a cocktail, and some giggling. It's nice to have my daughter's girlfriend comfortable around us, and joining me in meal prep. She cut up the strawberries, and the avocado, for my salad. I handled the rest, while my oldest mixed drinks, and my youngest made us laugh.

I grew up, learning this simple thing, Food Is Love from my grandmother, and later, my mom and my dad.
Whenever we had family together, it was always time for a meal... sitting around the tabel, talking and laughing. And yes, food, too!
Many of the same recipes, from my grandmother, and mom, show up in mealtimes, to this day!

I like that idea. We have the same type of thing in our home. When hubby's not home we resort to eating in front of the TV.... Bad bad I know. But weekend breakfasts are huge and I cook Sunday lunch every Sunday. When dad's home it's always around the table. Which I prefer but when we're alone the kids and myself have our own rituals. Eating as a family is preferable and very important!

they are around the table and talking and you hear things...
since its a comfortable place, they open up, like they normally wouldnt

It's true. My kids still share a lot too and around the dinner table seems to be prime time. I am always happy to hear about other families that still do the same. 😁
