It was the first working day of the week, and we were to start our internship in full today because of the practical knowledge we would need to get in the psychology department. The leader of the Centre of Intelligence of Things (CloTh) Professor Celestine Iwendi, who happens to be my program coordinator, was developing psycho-intelligence, and I am glad to be part of his team, so we had to visit the psychology department to get primary data.
Since I knew about the encounter that we were about to have, I prepared and came early to the school as usual. We wrote some theories and then a few Python lines of code to check the human state of mind based on their speech. The aim is to blend AI into psychology, where predictions can be made just by listening to people speak, facial expressions, and others. We also brought security in it so that they AI will predict if the person is dangerous or not based on the speech or his facial expression.
After exploring the entire thing, we moved to the psychology laboratory, where we used virtual reality glasses to have a first-hand expression of what the virtual world looks like and how we can use this to profile solutions for those in the psychology department.
It was my first time using virtual reality glasses, and I must say that I had the experience of my life while in the virtual world because everything seemed to be very real. I spent almost 20-30 minutes in the virtual world, and I was able to explore a lot of things. It was indeed fun to have such an experience.
Immediately after the show, we went back to our laboratory, where we started thinking about how we could build an AI model to assist those in psychology in terms of reading and predicting expression, dictating crime based on speech, and other factors.
We have a lot of projects at hand at the moment, and the goal or target is to build a large language model specifically for some organizations that will not be open source like ChatGpt because of the security of their data. Psychology and medicine, security, the World Trade Organisation, and many more are the projects we are currently trying to work on to build a chat model.
So that was all I did for the day, my dear friends. I went back home during the evening and then ate and slept a bit because I had to come back to the library during the night to read and also work on my assessment as the deadline for submission drew nearer.
