I love to hand stitch and upcycle.
I have been keeping myself occupied from time to time with a spot of stitching.
I really love reusing something.
Reinventing an item that would otherwise be discarded, and making it new again.
I have posted in the past, totes and clutches I have made.
Here are the ones I am currently working on.
I have quite a few incomplete pieces actually.
These are just a few I grabbed from the top of my mountain of stuff.
I do a little each day.
This is a clutch I am working on today. 😊
I'm trying to teach myself to be structured within my limits and unpredictability of function.
If I'm organised I can grab something and do a little without having to excavate and mine my way through the pile of stuff.
You have been very busy @girlbeforemirror making very practical items. I also like reusing bits and pieces and have been labelled a 'hoarder' though I often find things quickly when needed...
I wonder how you decide what to give away and what to keep to work on.
I'm personally always torn when about to recycle or upcycle garments : 'should I reuse it myself or should I pass it on'?

I'm torn about this, too. I love having a rich store to dip into, but I dislike clutter. It clutters my brain 😊.

Absolutely! I give all reasonable, reusable clothes to a second hand charity shop. I do a lot of shopping there too.
The people who run the local store have told me that they get a huge amount of worn out, broken, torn stained garments that they just can't sell. They have people dump sub standard items at their door and they end up having to wear the cost of disposing of what is often rubbish.
I also buy off cuts and fabric from an amazing local recycling depot that is actually called, Reverse Garbage.
Clothing manufacturer send them remnants and samples. You can rummage through and choose what you like (sometimes it is literally off cuts of half a trouser leg). I fill a large bag for $5.
I have posted about it before.
Once I went there and they had polythene promo bags in abundance, so that was the material I used. Actually they always seem to have a lot of those bags, they are not the enviro bag they claim to be I'm afraid.

Thank you for asking.
My posts are lacking detail regarding these things lately. I have some health problems that have impeded... Every aspect of my life. I used to do posts and these little tasks at home to balance my otherwise limited day. At the moment this too has become hard. I appreciate the relevant comments.
My hands are quite sore and I don't type easily at the moment, and don't always get a chance to respond. Every comment is very much appreciated, it does make my day.

I especially like the idea to remodel a pant to a bag. My jeans always get a hole on right knee and I remodel it to either a short pant or a skirt. I must try your bag idea :) Thank you for the inspiration!

You have great set of talents and this needle work is great to watch and in my opinion it's really great to have multi level talents because that will enhance our life and in my opinion those are really cool stuff on which you are currently working and in my opinion the end result will be effective.
Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

I always love to see a good upcycled project! I love the idea of you making a jean clutch. What I love about these projects is that no one else will have one exactly the same ;)

I love this re-cycling of fabrics and transforming them into new functions. I especially like it when the fabric is worn, and the colour has faded. It's a good idea to have things to hand where you can do a little at a time - I could start to put together a basket full for the winter.

Those are some pretty stuff you made @girlbeforemirror, and I'm definitely up for reusing stuff so I'm gonna watch this space for more, and perhaps the one I'll add to my pile of things I'm gonna try out when I get my break from work.
I have to ask tho, that bright green thread, what kind of thread is that or is it a yarn it looks so thick.

I use wool or thick embroidery cotton usually.

Good idea to reuse the trousers. I especially like the "jeans-bags" Sadly my sewing machine will
eataccept thick and heavy fabrics, or I would copy your projects.Thank you for sharing

I only sew by hand 😊 I get frustrated with sewing machines. I don't think I do it right, everything gets chewed up. Me and machinery , not a good idea.

Organising the mountain - I know the feeling. I have so many ideas and there are so many things I'd like to do...
It's easy to run wild with planning, thinking about the how and what but hard to say "No." I'm trying to decline the number of things I'm working on so that more of them get finished ;)
