Namaste Steemians,
I hope you all are doing well and I think I am too. Today I wanted to review the movie "Son of the Mask" which came up in a lucky draw by my good friend @macchiata chan. Now seeing the movie at number 10 made me a little nervous. So I decided to roam around on the steemit world for a bit and when I encountered the question from @sayee, What is your opinion about the entertainment industry of Bollywood? Which is a very intriguing question and given my nature, I had answered it well. But that didn't satisfy me.

The question remained the same. Why do I watch movies even though I hate is so much? And that too is a good question but I will reserve it for some other day, You know when I have thousands of followers and they all be like 'But @inuke why watching it when you know you are gonna hate it?' Ah!! It will make a good post someday. But I would like to continue the rant on the Bollywood. Because I don't think it got the beating it deserved. I mean Race3 is currently the third highest grossing movie for God sake. I understand that movies are getaway for many people but dear people for the love of god please have some standards. Are we that desperate to get away from our daily lives? Another good question for some other day.

But seriously ask yourself when was the last time when you were not brainwashed to go to the movie theater? When was the last time when you exited the cinema and thought 'Wow!! that is some good movie, I was not expecting that'? I'll tell you it this feeling is so rare that you have to open the browser and look at the list and go like, Ah!! yeah. I loved Hichki, I liked Raid. Then why can't I recall it at that time? Because you are being exploited my friend, You are tricked into thinking that some movie is good and must watch while the others a just wind.

Let's do an experiment or better word would be a case study, About Bollywood 2017.

Reason 1

The crappy movies are flooding the market there is no doubt about that, And the good movies get washed away. You all are aware of the case with the Newton, many didn't go to the theater because the poster wasn't that catchy instead people went to Judwaa2. (inuke just took a pill to calm himself) Funny thing is the movies if you think in a broad sense are more or less like my steemit post If it manages to catch attention in first few days, well and good or else it just couple of cents. But I will give the movie this, they have the possibility of gaining a cult following, Me on the other hand Not much. Needless to say Newton even being a better film didnot get much audience

Reason 2

The Advertisement, everyone knows how misleading the trailers can be but still, you are getting fooled. How? The music industry. By constantly playing the music in the various channel they make you think that the movie is good. You may laugh all you want but that is true. People after listening to the damn songs so many times develops a likeness towards that at when in the cinema the songs hit the screen they connect to it and tricked into thinking that they are having a good time. How is that for a theory? They plant the seed by releasing teasers, some behind the scenes, the making of, some random interview and shows where they are promoting, which gets you all curious about the movie. I have nothing against promotion, I too promote my post. But Clickbait is wrong. And that what they do, They click bait you with the interview and all.

Reason 3

Forcing an opinion on you, This you may not believe. Simple question, who gets the award? The worthy ones. Right people get rewarded when the outdid themselves or at least that is what it is supposed to. I am not sure of how the nomination works and how the winner gets selected. But when a winner is announced I automatically form an opinion that this guy is a great actor, I may disagree by he has skills that I may be able to see in the next movie. Still in denial, Ok now you have Aamir Khan from Rang De Basanti, Sanjay Dutt from lage raho munna bhai yet you still give the award to Hrithik Rosahn for Dhoom2... WTF...

You see, The thing is we don't care that the movie is good or bad. And if you want the proof just go and visit the popular movie list, No matter how bad they may be they are still making a lot of money.

Now you may ask me again "Dude, if you have such a problem with the Bollywood movies why do you watch go and watch the f*** all Hollywood movies, naa?" And the answer is simple "I am a hypocrite", (Just like you.)

One last thing if Golmaal Again get the best picture award in competition with Hindi Medium and Newton, I think I deserve an 'I survive this bullshit award'
