Cricketers' contract with the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has expired on September 30. Indian captain Virat Kohli, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Ravi Shastri will be in talks with the BCCI on Friday. In this meeting, captain Kohli will talk to the players for increasing the wages.
BCCI's richest cricket board in the world doubles the annual fee for Kohli's annual contract. But considering the board's income, the Indian captain is not quite satisfied with the players' salaries. In September last year, the BCCI had signed an alluring contract for TV rights. Rupert Murdoch's Star India Channel will give $ 250 million to the BCCI in exchange for IPL broadcasting from 2018 to 2022.
"The players want their wages to be increased," a senior BCCI official told AFP, who is reluctant to reveal the name. Kohli said that the team will raise the demand at the Delhi team's meeting. Along with the salary increases, the other important agenda of this meeting is that the schedules of cricketer Indian cricketers are tired of playing to play
The BCCI paid salaries to players by dividing these three grades. Players of 'A' category get 10 million rupees annually. 'B' category 50 lakh and 'C' category players will get Tk 25 lakh.
