Riding on a five-wicket haul from all-rounder Hardik Pandya, India dominated Day 2 of the third Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. With 124 for 2 on the board at stumps, India extended their lead to 292 runs, strengthening their grip on the match. After a disappointing morning, things turned around for India in the post-lunch session as Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah struck in quick succession. In the latter half, Hardik Pandya produced a magical spell, picking up five wickets in just six overs. The England team collapsed like a pack of cards and bundled out for 161 in 38.2 overs. With a healthy lead of 168 runs, Indian openers started confidently taking on the England bowlers. Openers Shikhar dhawan and KL Rahul stitched yet another 50-run opening stand before Rahul (36) missed an in-swinger from Ben Stokes. Post Rahul's dismissal, Dhawan (44) and Pujara notched up a 51-run partnership, extending India's lead in the second innings. At stumps, Virat Kolhi and Cheteshwar Pujara remained unbeaten at 8 and 33 runs respectively.

India dominated the second of the third Test at Trent Bridge after bowling out England for 161 in their first innings and then taking a commanding lead of 292 runs at the close of play. Hardik Pandya with his maiden five-for is the star of the show as England succumbed from 46/0 (at lunch) to 161/10 (at tea). With conditions favouring swing bowling Pandya along with Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah picked up wickets at regular intervals to put India on top. Only once in their 524 previous Tests have India lost a Test after taking a 100+ first innings lead. So things are definitely looking up for Virat Kohli and his men. Earlier, after a delayed start due to a slight drizzle, England dismissed India for 329 runs with two wickets each for seamers James Anderson and Stuart Broad. An intriguing day 3 awaits us all.
