After winning the first match of this season's IPL, Delhi Capitals had their second match yesterday. Delhi had won the first match of the tournament while they lost their yesterday's match.
Sandeep Lamichhane has proven track records to be one of the best spinners among the associate nations. He has played various leagues all over the world. He was the player of Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL). He also played Pakistan Super League(PSL) representing Lahore Qalandars. He is a regular member of the International Squad of Nepal while he has also represented various age level cricket of the country in international arena. He has also represented Nepal as the captain on U-19 Cricket Nepal. Yes, he has success in every tournament that he has played all around the globe.
After winning the first match, Delhi opted to keep out this valuable spinner for the second match Vs. Chennai Superkings. What was the reason behind this decision ? The match was in the home ground of Delhi and was preferable for spin bowling. Delhi lost the match and payed the price for it. Is it because they did a mistake by not selecting Sandeep for that match ? His presence would definitely have a big impact in that match.
In the first match, Sandeep was out as there was only 4 spots for the foreigners but in the second match Delhi had only 3 foreign players, in this sense he could have been added there as well. Colin Ingram from South Africa was wicket keeping for Delhi, Allrounder Paul from West Indies was also present while the last overseas player included was the fast bowler Rabada. The 4th spot was not provided to Sandeep and it was awarded to another player from India.
Now, the cricinfo analysts Brad Hodge and Deep Das Gupta has also said that Delhi was one step down from the selection of the team. Hodge added, why sandeep is not in the team, it's a surprise. He could have been the match winning player of Delhi in yesterday's conditions. The pair of Sandeep Lamichhane and Amit Mishra could have been troublesome for the batsman of Chennai. He further added, Sandeep could have trouble Shane Watson and MS Dhoni. There was no reason to let him out unless he had an injury. Sandeep had all the variation in his bowling which makes him suitable to bowl in the conditions of Delhi.
Deep said, Delhi made a huge mistake. The pitch was turning. There was no reason to keep him out of playing 11. If Jadeja could turn that much, Sandeep would have definately done that. He a good speed which would have been a plus point for Delhi.
In the previous edition of IPL, Sandeep only played last 3 matches for Delhi when their hopes was already out. Sandeep has already shown his spin magic all around the globe after that period in Australia, West Indies, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Hodge added, Sandeep has proved he can play good in all the conditions of the ground. In the previous edition, he even performed good for Delhi which should not have been underestimated.
So, what now ?
After Sandeep is out in the 2nd match. Now it's unclear when he will get a chance. Some people says he has been kept our as he played PSL in pakistan few days ago.
Whatever may be the reasons, we nepali fans have the desire to see him play from the team and performing well for the team. Nepali fans are so crazy that they start to react angry emotion in the facebook post of Delhi Capitals, which should not have been done. I hope the Delhi will give him a chance sooner and later and select their best playing 11 which will be better for them as well.
Will Sandeep Lamichhane just be the advertising material in the social pages of Delhi or will he get a chance to perform to make his team and people of Delhi proud. We will have to wait for this answer in the future matches of Delhi !
Suggestions and Comments are welcomed. Thanks !

I don't know much about cricket but this just prove that Nepalese people get butthurt quite easily. Sandeep Lamichhane has reached a level in this sports that was unimaginable few years ago. That itself is quite an achivement. However whether he gets to play or not is totally based on strategy formulated by DC officials. They have been in this game way way longer than us. Just be grateful that we've made to the bench. He'll get to play soon enough.
