Apparently, DMVs no longer do permit testing, or the driving portions of tests....... Also, apparently, in the state of MO, you now get a hard permit {like a driver's license, or a state i.d.}, &&&&&& those hard pieces of plastic can only be done in Jefferson City MO {NOT individual DMV offices}....... Would you like to know WHY? I sure was curious, especially considering what additional pains in the ass it NOW is to GET a permit / driver's license. So I called Highway Patrol, & I ASKED.
I first asked when did this all happen. They didn't give me an exact time, but they said "several years ago". Okay. Moving on.....
Then I asked WHY did this change? They said it was because of criminals that had broken into a DMV, stolen their printing equipment, & proceeded to, you guessed it, print out a shit ton of fake driver's licenses........ I think you get the idea. So NOW because of those fuckers, those of us who are NOT criminals are being punished right along WITH the criminals. Because you see...........
Since DMVs can no longer administer permit tests, or driving tests - you NOW have to go to The Highway Patrol offices to take those tests....... You know as well as I do that those places are FAR from convenient to get to, which means additional time, additional costs {gas, time from work, wear & tear on vehicle because of distance & potentially having to make multiple trips there & back, etc.}, & so on. I couldn't be more ticked off right now.
I'm not a criminal, but.... Seriously? It's THAT damn easy to bust into a damn DMV? Wouldn't you think that they'd strive to correct that before punishing everybody? WOULDN'T YOU THINK THAT??? I THOUGHT THAT! I mean, don't YOU think that's kind of a big deal? An INsecure, UNstable GOVERNMENT office? DON'T YOU THINK SO??? OMG............
