Yes, that is exactly what a lady in southern India did with her 13 year old son. This terminally ill mother couldn't trust her alcoholic husband on taking care of her 2 sons and 2 daughters that made her take this decision which according to Indian law is a crime.

This lady got her eldest son, who is just 13 year old, married to a girl who is roughly 10 years older than him. This unlawful wedding came to light when the locals in the village started circulating the pictures of this unique child marriage where in the groom was a child while the bride was an adult in most cases it is always the other way round. The district authorities we're soon alerted. The authorities also made visits to the bride's and the groom's houses, but seems like they are absconding.

The mother must have got the idea from the famed Indian dialy soap 'pehredaar piya ki' that was being aired on a leading telivision channel and fail to understand that anything can happen in fiction while reality is way too different.

According to the villagers, the groom's mother wanted someone responsible to take care of the house hold chores and her kids and that made her make this decision.

The authorities have given an ultimatum for the groom and the bride to appear before the court failing which a case would be filed against them. The marriage undoubtedly would be annulled for it is against the Indian law.!
