Thailand often gets a bad wrap for housing sexual predators, but many of the filth is homegrown. Men in positions of power often use their status to intimidate and coerce others around them. One girl's courage to capture the sexual perpetrator in the act has take a swipe at having to stand for this unacceptable behavior.
Early last week, a video surfaced and spread around the internet clearly showing the OrBorTor President of Phangnga engaging in pedophilic acts. He was confronted and forced to resign.
Government officials when to visit the twelve year old girl who was victim to the horrendous acts. The found that she was living with her 54 year old grandmother after her parents divorce. She recounted to officials that the man would take her to his car or his office and touch her, kiss her and undress her. At the point he was caught, no sexual intercourse had occurred.
According to the victim, he insisted that this was a traditional Chinese remedy for curing Coronary Artery Disease, of which he was suffering. He needed her help and claimed he would pay for her 'assistance'.
Officials also discovered that the President had sent his people to her house to speak with the grandmother and request that whoever posted the video take it down and delete it.
The young girl admitted that she took her camera to capture him in the act. She had decided to record their last meeting because she wanted to have proof to send to her friends as to why she was so stressed. She wanted the meetings to stop. Once the video was shared with her friends, it ended up quickly going viral on the internet.
The primary school student also confided that she sought consultation from her older sister (16) who is a vocational school student. The sister revealed that he had done the same to her in the past.
The officials attempted to remove the girl from the home to put her in a safe house for protection, but were prevented from doing so by the grandmother.
It is unclear at the time of writing what degree of punishment will be levied on the assaulter. Personally, I think they should release his name, drag him through the mud, provide reparations, and a lengthy prison sentence.. in the least. Unfortunately, it's more likely that he will be reassigned to an inactive post and let off with a slap on the wrist.... revolting.. 😠
