Crippled hands

in crippled •  7 years ago

I was working on a set of leather mittens the other night. The final two art workshops I'm facilitating at the community centre nearly fell through, but evolved into a set of dual mocassins and mittens making workshops. I ended up sitting up sewing until two or three in the morning with that leather. Didn't notice my hand cramping up, until yesterday morning.

My tendons are all crippled up. I gotta take care of them for Tuesday. Shitty part of that, I've got to use my hands for everything I do. Cooking. Carrying my groceries home. Trying to work on my bussel and regalia. Getting my computer to work. Even writing this message requires the use of my hands! Mother fucker!

Even if I just avoid all that stuff and play video games at home. I'd still be using my hands. I'll hope it heals up on its own, and try to go easy on it.

I hear you, I was having issues designing too much just pushing the mouse around for hours at a time is a pain in the elbow... take care take brakes and do some hand yoga :)

oh yes! hand yoga! I always forget about the hand exercises when I'm in the most crafty moods. It's easy for me to spend a few hours with my head down working leather or beading. But, it sure does catch up on a person when your not careful! Good advice for sure!

I tell you to remind myself of the same :) Observation is always easier when observing the other self to see how to improve the inner self. Come on over to http://vaudle.com check out the social audio app. I am sharing my thoughts and it is a fun place to connect outside of steem.

Ouch sorry to hear that. Especially since you're hands are never idle.

Yes, tendinitis is a permanent disability. But also serves as a reminder not to work so frivolously on leather. Busy seasons still coming up too.

I'll be posting more about the continuation of my working with hides throughout the spring. Got alot of work to do with rattles, drums, and regalia. Alot to look forward to! Thank you for your sentiments.
