who left us 2018 in the crypto currencies?

The year "2018" wiped out the crypto currencies, but was this really good or bad?
2018 bitcoin under 80% from its historical highs at the end of 2017 some cryptodivisas dropped 200, 300 or even 500% of their value ; Many projects backed with cryptodivisas closed their doors some others were unmarked or could no longer be afloat "bitconnect" but as I said at the beginning this is really good or bad?
For me everything that happened this 2018 I simply believe it was a stage or a filter more that this technology has to learn to cope as some would say only the strong survive, companies backed in crypto currencies that actually bring value to the crypto community as is the case of "Steemit". Ethereum" and many others that are led by people who really believe in blockchain.
