Crocodile crocodiles captured by residents in the area of Lhok Seutang village, Julok Subdistrict, East Aceh, until this morning can not be evacuated by the BKSDA Aceh. Residents turned out to ask for compensation money.
"People are asking for reimbursement fees, whereas we can not provide the funding," said the Head of BKSDA Aceh.
When asked about the compensation money that residents asked for a crocodile crocodile that is 4.80 meters long, 60 cm wide, and 600 kg weight, Sapto admitted did not know.
"We can not provide the funding, because later it could be a precedent to the future, later people will ask for compensation," he said.
"Kita tidak mau menanyakan juga (soal uang kompensasi, red). Karena di mana pun sebenarnya tidak boleh memberikan hal seperti itu," sambungnya. Dia mengatakan buaya muara termasuk hewan dilindungi sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 5 tentang Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Hayati dan Ekosistemnya dan lampiran PP Nomor 7 Tahun 1999.
Sapto added that currently BKSDA Aceh officers at the location are trying to persuade the residents to submit the crocodile voluntarily to be evacuated. The local police are also helpful.
"Hopefully today they can voluntarily submit, the police have appealed also I have ordered members not repressive We invite people to talk," he said.
Residents caught this estuary crocodile in the Kwala Malehan region, the Arakundo River channel, using a net on Tuesday (13/2). Residents are restless because this crocodile appears several times so feared there will be people who fall prey.

The result, this crocodile is 4.80 meters long, weight 600 kg and 60 cm wide. This crocodile is estimated to be 70 years old and some of his teeth have fallen out.
