Accepting God's Gift

God has prepared a gift from before the foundation of the world, the gift of salvation prepared for you and me, have you accepted that gift from God?

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. 18 He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been done in God.

John 3:16-21

Everywhere we can read and hear "God is love." Can we understand what these words really mean? In the text above we read that God loves us so much that he sent his son God to live as a man and to save us by dying in our place. This simply has nothing to do with superficial love.
There are people who, even after learning about this sublime act of redemption, question this sacrifice. They wonder: could God not have devised another way to save us? We must learn a little more about the attributes of God, especially about his immutability, and for that we will see the following.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

God is holy by nature, this means that he does not tolerate sin nor does he approve it, God is just and for this reason evil must be punished without exception, the established way is that he who sins must die.

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23

We are of a sinful nature, by ourselves it is impossible for us to reach the holiness of God, but even so God wants to have a relationship with us, an eternal relationship and for that He has aired a solution to the problem of sin in the world, He has sent His Son to fulfill that demand, that guilt on sinful man, someone had to die to pay for that guilt and that person has been Jesus Christ who died on the cross of Calvary instead of all humanity.

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:10

It is up to us to accept this gift from God, it is something that we cannot change, only God has provided everything necessary to be able to go from the condition of sinner to children of God to live eternally with him, to live a full life here on earth and in heaven.

The question is the following: Have you already accepted God's gift for your life?
