The Crossfit Judges Course 2018

With the Open just around the corner I decided it was time to do the Judges Course again. I like helping out around my box during the open season, and being a judge is a great opportunity to get to know some of the other members who train at other times than myself. Technically you do not need a certified judge unless you are going to advance to the Regionals (or online qualifier for masters), but I find that many of the regular members also prefer a certified judge as this somehow gives their score more legitimacy.

The course this year covered some new movements that were not there last year, including lots of dumbbell variations. They also made a big point out of the subtle differences between squat and power variations of olympic lifts, as well as hang vs. regular. They also included the ring MU in this years course, in the last few years I beleive we only had the bar MU actually covered in the course.

The test this year was better than last year, but still some of the videos were a bit hard to judge due to the angle and lack of sound. But a lot better than it was before.

Anyone else looking forward to the open?
