[DDD] Developer Delegation Day - October 2024

in crowd-support •  last month
I would like to take part in @remlaps' campaign and send a delegation to a few developers who I know and who are currently worth mentioning.

For those who are not yet aware of the initiative, I would like to refer to his announcement and use his short summary:

On the 5th of each month, community members will delegate 5 STEEM Power (SP) to a Steem developer of their choice. This regular support helps sustain and incentivize the developers who will become the backbone of the Steem ecosystem.

I myself was considered by @remlaps, and would now like to thank a few users for their activities with a small delegation.

the-gorilla

  • He has played a big part in the modernisation of the front end, which we can already see some progress on.
  • It must also be recognised that he sometimes fulfils this task under difficult conditions ;-)

faisalamin

  • He is primarily responsible for the alternative front end SteemPro. That alone means a lot of work and deserves recognition.

steemchiller

  • He is also indirectly involved in all the activities mentioned above.
  • He is also extremely active in the background to push Steem forward.

So these are my current delegations:

DeveloperDelegation DateDelegation Amount
@the-gorilla2024-10-055 SP
@faisalamin2024-10-055 SP
@steemchiller2024-10-055 SP

Of course, I still have a few developers in mind. I look forward to new projects and ideas that I (and all of us) will hopefully be able to read about before the next DDD.

You too? Then join the DDD :-)

I've just joined the initiative, but I'm starting with 100 SP for now to give it all a bit more of an effect...

Great!

Wow, that was blazingly fast.

Hey @moecki,
thank you for using our automatic payout bot 'DUBby' to share your post rewards with your commentators.

You have not yet issued any payout instructions.
Just write a comment to the users who should receive a share. It should contain the instruction in the form !dubby x %.

If you need help with this, feel free to ask or check this manual (german).

Greetings from the 'DU-Finanzbot' (by Witness @moecki).

Thank you for joining the initiative and for the delegation. Both aspects of support are appreciated!

@moecki20sp
@michelangelo3100sp

Thanks guys for what you do to keep steemit alive.

This is my own little contribution in @remlaps campaign.

@michelangelo3, are you also a witness, if yes!! How do I vote you?

Thank you very much for your appreciation, I'm really pleased. But it feels too much for me, so I would like to ask you to reduce the delegation to 5 SP. That would be fine and feels better for me. (Reduce delegation works exactly as you did, a 5 SP delegation reduces the existing one, with a 0 SP delegation an active delegation would be deleted.)

Another thing: I just replied to another user who lost some of his votes by granting auths. Everything seems to be fine with you, but I have seen that you still have old authorizations from 2018. I would recommend that you remove these auths if you no longer need them.

You can do this by login to Steemworld, then you will see your Auths and can delete them by clicking on the red X.

Thank you very much.:

Back days… many of this stuff like delegation, checking your voting power etc, existed individually on their own. But with Steemworld, is like “all in one”. So, I’ve not been too frequent there..

You won’t believe, I still use “steemnow” to check my voting power…😊😊

But at least, I’ve learnt two very important things from you and moecki, using Steemworld.

Thanks for the help!

Thank you very much for your participation and your appreciation.
But remember that it is ‘only’ meant to be a small gesture. You also want to be able to give out votes.

Interesting initiative, but if the developers delegate to each other (as it is going so far) it doesn't make much sense. But wait and see and somehow the ball has to be set rolling first.

The discussion that has arisen is also interesting, here are two opposing comments that nevertheless seem right to me:

1.) The "lots of small accounts sacrifice for the benefit of a few accounts" pattern is kind of the opposite of what the ecosystem needs. (by danmaruschak Link)

2.) Without some sort of exchange in value, the existing development landscape is smothered by a free-rider problem. (Response from remlaps-lite to comment above. Link)

Developer accounts are usually larger accounts. When a small account delegates to a larger account, it may feel wrong, but it could still be worth it for the small account because it attracts attention.

Let's see how the experiment continues...

Hi! Sorry for the off-topic but as steemit.com was down this morning for some time and I used your frontend to post (thanks a bunch for that), I noticed there is a "None" text displayed, what's that, please?

Screenshot 2024-10-17 121127.png

Very well observed!
I added this information to be able to track changes in the trending score. This algorithm is currently running: https://steemit.moecki.online/hive-142124/@moecki/new-trending-algorithm-attempt-number-4

But the score is only displayed if the test RPC node is set. The production node is set by default and these does not return the score.

That's a 100% increase in the 2nd month! Thanks for joining, I was feeling lonely😉.

... and a few hours later there are even more :-)

Thank You @moecki for considering me and it's an nice initiative @remlaps 👍

Is really a nice gesture and inspiring seeing the way you support hardworking and dedicated developers like you.

Among the list you mentioned, I’m a bit familiar with the-gorilla because I started following him recently. I knew him as an English football lover, I had know idea, he is among the timbre and caliber in this space.

I’ve been using steempro for awhile whenever I’m having challenges using steemit. Is nice finally seeing the developer responsible for it.

I will also like to add you to the category as well. I got to know you through Michelangelo, when he mentioned you as a witness.

You guys are really doing a great work for the growth of steemit and it is worth encouraging. I’ll love to participate, I just need guidelines on how to delegate the sp.

Is Michelangelo a developer too because for me, he deserves the biggest from me 😊😊

Thank you!
I am happy when users use what I have developed.
The best thing is when the user's suggestions can be realised.

Here is a tutorial for delegations:

Edit: Why does tipu always reply to you?

Edit: Why does tipu always reply to you?

They were the one directing me with a link on how to delegate SP. but after clicking on the link, it’s still not opening on my phone.

I’ll give it a try with the link you sent to me!

Thank you!

Hi @sbamsoneu! I`m here to help :) If you want to delegate, please make a comment (for example replay to this one) like this:
I want to delegate X sp to @user
Where X is the amount of SP and @user is the steem user you want to delegate to. For example:
I want to delegate 100 sp to @moecki
@tipU will answer with a delegation link. Hope this helps!:)
