The story of a middle aged man with two mistresses has been around for close on two and a half millennia now. It may seem to be a little off topic but I think many in the START ecosystem could learn a lesson from this old Greek tale.
As the story goes the one mistress was much older than the man and the other much younger. Each day the younger lady would offer to massage her lovers head and would stealthily try to pluck out the grey hairs from his head to try to conceal the aging process and make him look as young as her. The older mistress had her own ideas. She used to pull the darker hairs in order to age the man and make the pair more compatible.
Post launch of v2 I think it's safe to say that the community and the people in positions of power at startjoin hq have very different ideas as to what should or could happen next.
"All focus is on the platform" is the official line from those who are in the know. "Why neglect the coin and diminish trust with people who have donated so much time, money and energy into the ecosystem?" seems to be the issue of the STARTJoin faithful.
The two mistresses both acting in their own self interest by trying to change their lover ultimately left the man bald. My fear is that the growing divide in STARTJoin will have a similar effect.
To say the very least the launch was disappointing. Bugs are still plaguing the site. Rather elementary ones at that. Beta test have been going on for months now, or so we have been told. Karl Gray has assured the community that things will be running smoothly soon.I guess we have to take him at his word in the absence of any other option.
On the other side is the community. The longer suffering individuals who have paid for many of the assets on the StartCOIN Holdings balance sheet through their activity in the ecosystem. The community say they want development of the coin and platform together.The answer from StartJoin hq has been that without the platform the coin is nothing. While this may be true for now it will not be true forever.
The block reward is now only 10 coins per block. Not even a mention of this from HQ.
There are wrongs on both sides of this argument but unless common ground is found there will be no more Bitcoin Capital rounds, no more pledges and no more startcoin.
The question everyone wants to know the answer to is if this was the plan all along.
