How can Steemit augment indiegogo?

Had a discussion earlier tonight, in which two things came to light: 1) Steemit and similar things are attempting to fill the gap that has always existed in worker collectives: they forget that any enterprise has to satisfy its customers. 2) the efforts at crowdfunding (indiegogo, kickstarter, etc.) could maybe be enhanced in a Steemit environment.
