Pins in my ankle means that balancing on a bare right foot is hard so I have undone years of habit to put the right one on first most of the time.

    Having broken my ankle (but not the same degree as you...sorry) I know the balancing issue when putting on shoes or even pants. It's especially worse during high humidity days for me. :(
