I am pretty sure there has been a lot of people who heard the term "Let Money Make Money for You"

And especially when you have a laptop that is sitting at home, doing nothing and most of the time idle.
Or do you have an android tablet even, that is hardly used unless you are doing some reading; or a tablet that is almost dying off and you have a new one to work on and you just let it slide into its death?

I believe that there's another saying, and also part of my experience seeing it happen throughout my 17 years working with computers; that machines can die off easily with being over worked, but it also will die off easily when it is under worked.

Trust me, it does. And so far the laptops and computers I used for years (at least 6 years) though starting to have a lot wear and tear (especially battery life) still works perfectly fine when the power is on.

So if you have extra power outlets and unlimited Internet connection , I would like to recommend you;

This is actually a nice recommendation extra especially when you have a free kick-start cloud mining and faucet site called EoBot; where @fatpandadesign will be writing the details of how it is set up (very soon). So this is the expansion step when you want to pump in extra crypto into EoBot without pulling out any extra cash.

Especially when your laptop is lying around doing nothing, except basic work like checking emails and writing reports

As this is a collaborating post with @fatpandadesign , and I would like to try my very best to guide you every step of the way without scratching your head, I might have to split it into 3 parts (at most) in case I ran out of limit to post for the day.

So here goes!

Step 1: The simple sign up.

If you have not clicked and signed up for minergate, you can click on any of the screen captures which will take you to the website.

It is basically a no-brainer to sign up, and you will pretty much just need your email and your password.

And of course, you need to solve a captcha authentication to make sure you are not a bot.

NOTE: I used a VPN to sign up so that I can make this step by step guide; but I am not certain if you can use it for mining. So, please do not abuse this service by creating a farm of accounts because you are using your laptop / PC / devices to mine and you can combine multiple devices with the same account to provide a faster mining hive.

Especially you have a network of computers that are doing nothing. lol.

Once you have signed up for it, you will be directed to download the minergate software for your PC / Mac. Please note it works from Windows 7 only, and since mine is a windows 8 64-bit I will be downloading that.

There are also other platforms that supports minergate so you will not need to worry too much unless you are using super old devices and machines.

For handheld devices you can download from Google Play. Unfortunately so far I know it works on Ice cream sandwich OS and above, and it is only available for Android devices.

(I am pretty sure they are working on it for windows mobile phones too for future use)

2. Before you start mining

There are some tweaks that I find it really useful before you want to start installing your PC and mine it straight away, which is what I feel I need to explain to you and let you decide.

A lot of my friends asked me what it is so I find this will be a good information for you to pre-set it, which can only be done at the browser site and not the app itself.

As I have earlier explained that this is actually a collaboration expansion user guide post for EoBot that @fatpandadesign will be writing, I would like to introduce these 2 more crucial coins that is excepted by EoBot and it is easier to mine than ETH or ETC.

(Yes, you can mine that, but it takes forever to reach a minimum withdraw unless you have a more powerful graphics card)

Please notice the differences between PPS and PPLNS mining fees. One ensures you get your mined coins validated after 24 hours.

My personal experience.

I usually use PPLNS as it actually has a bigger reward but lately I realised that BCN mining tends to take forever to confirm my mined coins so I switch it to PPS for a while, get it passed and switch it back to PPLNS.

Every time if I want to change my settings I must log into the browser site.

So if you are here for the long haul, a lot of miners would recommend you PPLNS settings; but it will test your patience.

Optional: Cloud Mining

If you think you are not going to damage your pc / laptop but you would rather let the big guns help you, there's also an option of Cloud mining services.

As of today (about 6 hours back), the rate for cloud mining is this minimal amount, which approximately 7.91 USD per 20 Ghs.

It actually costs double than Genesis mining (unfortunately the cheapest rate is out of stock), yet this serves a nice option because you seemed to be able to use the same GHS to switch mining coins as you need.
(I will double confirm this later. I might need to get some BTC to test my theory)
