Amazing Benefits of Crying, I thought there's none!

in cry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Crying is definitely not for women or little kids only,  I strongly believe it isn't something exclusive to one gender.  I for one cry once in a while, yes and most of the times intentionally!

Well I intend to, knowing the health benefits I could get from crying prompt me to find ways like watching dramas or very intense movies just to make my tears flow freely.

To all men out there? Do you cry? Or you are ashamed to?

The following are some of the surprising benefits of crying:

  • Releases Toxins
  • Kills Bacteria
  • Improve Vision
  • Improves Mood
  • Relieves Stress

A study conducted by Dr. William H. Frey II, a biochemist and director of the Psychiatry Research Laboratories at the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Centre proves that crying does not only cleanse us mentally but it also cleanse our body. In his study he found out that toxic substances are released from the body when we cry.

Another study published in 2011 proves that crying can also be a good way to kill bacteria.

Tears just like human milk and saliva contains the fluid that can kill a high percentage of bacteria in the body.

Our tears also function as lubricant, moistening the eyeballs and eyelids; this in turn can clear up our vision.

Another study conducted in 2008 found that crying elevate mood better than any antidepressant. So this means that crying will have a good effect to individuals with mood disorders.   If you are not in the mood it's better to cry than to take some synthetic medications that might affect some other organs in the body.

So how our tears can relieves stress? Impossible as it may seem but a good cry can provide a feeling of relief. As I’ve mentioned earlier, crying releases toxins from the body and as a result it lessens tension. So when we are stressed we should not forget to cry for it could help us lower if not eradicate or eliminate stress.  I did it many times and its effective!

Now I would like to share with you this wonderful short video which really made me cry. Try to listen to each words and concentrate to the photos and I’m sure you’ll get stirred by it. It is the reality, the truth in life which somehow we should live up with.
