Craig Wright and the Problem of Satoshi Nakamoto.

in crypto-currency •  6 years ago

Good Morning Everyone,

I was reading some typical headlines this morning and saw Craig Wright and his typical bullshit and thought Craig is either great for crypto-currency or terrible and exactly for the claims he makes. Reason goes as follows and let me make clear Craig Wright is NOT Satoshi Nakamoto.
• Case 1: Crypto-currency is to be used to make currency completely anonymous.
o Craig’s claim that he is Satoshi and nobody capable of proving otherwise is proof of concept (if honesty were the case on his part).
• Case 2: Crypto-currency is to be used to remove all anonymity from currency using an infinite ledger.
o Crypto-currency community unable to prove Craig is not Satoshi is major weakness in crypto-currency/bitcoin.
I’m not the biggest supporter of Case 1 for crypto-currency’s purpose because in a pre post-scaricity society, I believe it is far better to have currency entirely traceable rather than entirely anonymous for many reasons such as
o Entirely traceable currency creates accurate data for countless applications.
o Entirely traceable currency allows for allegations of corruption via the use currency to be (dis)proven.
o Entirely traceable currency allows for allegations of money laundering to be (dis)proven.
o Entirely traceable currency allows for allegations of tax evasion to be (dis)proven.
o Entirely traceable currency would allow people/companies globally to acquire/use currency and be held to a set of globally agreed upon and ENFORCEABLE financial rules.
Bit of a disclaimer, but I don’t follow the crypto markets as much as the blockchain technology because I think the currency aspect is merely another application to a fucking infinite history list that EVERYONE uses by nature. The impact of having everyone accurately contribute to the same history book is something I hear little of from the crypto-currency community.
What do you think? How wrong am I in my opinion/assumptions?
Thanks; I hope I was able to bring a different thought to you.
