DENT ICO - Mobile Data Exchange on Ethereum

Today I want to talk about the DENT ICO on the Ethereum platform.

DENT Exchange plans the to disrupt the mobile data industry by allowing, buying, selling, and donating of mobile data packages on their marketplace. Users who travel internationally could easily purchase a mobile data plan without worrying about roaming costs.

"DENT will be the global exchange for mobile data where - in the final scale - the world’s mobile data is sold, bought or donated, just like other commodities such as currencies are traded today. DENT will make data pricing transparent, and through automated bidding increases efficiency of purchase, just like spot markets and mobile advertising today. DENT Tokens will be the global currency for the exchange of mobile data packages. The possibility of exchanging a package to a more suitable one, especially in the advent of eSIMs will allow the use of multiple operators on a single phone will drive telcos to compete."

It seems like a attractive idea but I question how they plan on delivering and getting the data to function seamlessly on different devices. Perhaps that info is in the whitepaper, if not its something that should be considered.

    Looking at this from the USA/Europe developed world view point may be the wrong thinking.
    Millions of Africans, Asians, and other developing countries are racing to get a mobile phone and a plan to use so they can get in on the BOOM!
    Huge possibilities if implemented right. Boom to the Moon!

        Have to be careful to not get scammed,only buy from a site you trust and never click on links.

          I like the idea of this but my only issue is they're going to have to get the phone companies to play. From my experience in the telecom space which is over 13 years they don't like new competition or big changes. Unless some how they can make trading unused monthly data benefit them more than it is now I can't see them getting these companies to go along with it.

          I am from the U.S. and we only really have 4 choices ATT Verizon T-Mobile and Sprint. Even most of the smaller companies are actually owned by these companies like AT&T owns Cricket T-Mobile owns Metro PCS and even the smaller companies use these larger company's network like Tracfone uses AT&T for instance. Maybe this will work in other countries where there's more competition though.

          Good point @breezer seems like a good idea that will be tough to implement. But on the other hand, they did say similar things about Uber and AirBnB so lets wait and see.

          True, it's a great idea I wish them the best of luck! All it takes is one these companies to give in. I can see Sprint giving in as they're not doing as well as the others I mentioned above.

            maybe it will work in US, Canada and some European countries, but most of the other countries will prevent it, especially those where GSM operators are not totally independent from gov.t structures
