Cryptocurrency Warning: CoinDash.io “Token Sale Site Security Breach”

in crypto-news •  7 years ago

Hey Fellow Cryptocurrency Enthusiasts,

Unfortunate scenario I woke up to about the CoinDash.io Token Sale just minutes ago…below is a screenshot of the newsletter I received:

Original Post

This brings up a major problem happening in the cryptocurrency space that will only hurt our progress toward mainstream commercialization of cryptucurrency and decentralized blockchain technology. The market pulled back $28 billion in the past 7-days. That’s not the sign of a healthy market that we’re looking for — these types of “unfortunate situations” deter investors from putting their money into this exciting and innovative space.

“It seems like our Token Sale page was tempered and the sending address was changed.”

Really? That’s one of the biggest problems with CRYPTOcurrency — so many of these teams do not include prominent leaders within the blockchain/cryptocurrency community or in any community. They put up a front and all of a sudden, we hear about stuff like this happening. This email comes this morning, the day after I emailed the CoinDash team to tell them their bounty portal was not accurately recording my contributions.

In this world of blockchain startups raising massive amounts of money via cryptocurrency ICOs and token sales — be careful where you put your money. Luckily I only put 0.12 ETH ($20ish) into this “Token Sale loss” — a small loss compared to others who have already sent Ethereum.

Hope this helps you save your hard earned money and please give us a follow and a share to help inform other cryptocurrency enthusiasts about this issue and industry news!

Whoa. I'm new to this, so does this mean people's coins were getting send to the wrong address and there's no way to get it back?

@teecharles - yessir! This is why I am here on Steemit posting this stuff :)

My goal is to alert fellow Steemians and cryptocurrency enthusiasts about the risks involved along with industry stories and happenings. I received the email from CoinDash ICO team earlier this morning and went ahead with the screenshot above to show the proof - we need to alert each other in order for this stuff to not affect as many people as possible. Decentralized world = more responsibility for ourselves.

Followed you - feel free to follow for those cryptocurrency market updates! STEEMon! d[^_^]b
