Starbucks wants to accept crypto - not bitcoin

Here's our initiative to get STEEM on that list. Everyone send in your suggestion, lets make our presence known :)..

Other than STEEM, possible partners could be XLM, LTC, ETH (if they DONT know what they're doing), and in the future EOS. The adoption is NEIGH!

Shultz says,

“I’m bringing this up because as we think about the future of our company and the future of consumer behavior, I personally believe that there is going to be one or a few legitimate, trusted digital currencies off of the blockchain technology”
...“... I don’t believe that Bitcoin is going to be a currency today or in the future, I’m talking about the new technology of blockchain and the possibility of what could happen not in the near term”.

Do your part, go to https://ideas.starbucks.com/ and suggest STEEM as a payment option!

Will take 1 minute! And benefits our platform.

Youtube hacked? Mining scripts in adds!

Scripts in youtube adds were found that mined BTC through an attack.
Google responded promptly with the following statement:

"the ads were blocked in less than two hours and the malicious actors were quickly removed from our platforms."
This is going to be more prevelant..

Black hats always look for free meal tickets. And go after the biggest fish first! It's a surprise to me that antivirus software was the one to detect this first, instead of google themselves! This is crazy.. And shows why we need a decentralized browser as well. That pays US for advertisement. cough BAT.

Tether & their Auditors decease relationship

This is speculation as no independant confirmations have been received however,
"Reports surfaced Saturday night that Tether and their auditor, Friedman LLP, had dissolved their relationship. Due to the weekend, independent confirmation has not been received. Calls to Friedman LLP have gone to voicemail." quote from cointelegraph.com

This wouldn't be surprising, this could very easily happen if the Audit company did not take bait to 'pad' the numbers.
I have a feeling something fishy is occuring here. And this may be a huge lesson for many in crypto. KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF THE TETHER IF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE.

530$ mln stolen XEM tokens trackable

Developers behind NEM created an automated tagging system to track down the coins. The developers could not execute a hard fork because it is not a security error on NEM team's part, but on the exchange Coinchecks part that went through the biggest hack in crypto history.
Tracking the tokens to a particular wallet means very little.
The hackers have many options to go underground.. And do little.
I hope for the sake of the exchange, and the users that they are triangulated and caught. May the coins be returned. (very unlikely)

However, let this be a case study.. To keep YOUR coins. Exchanges are not much better than banks.. And not insured.

I'd like a vente red-eye fair-trade coffee with some soy creamer and a 30 dollar transaction fee, please.

Buttcoin is great for small transactions, what are they on about?

The dog won't work. the hackers will just package their NEM in boxes filled with fresh ground Colombian coffee to hide the scent!

I like your posts in general, but this one was exceptionally interesting for me this time. Thanks for resharing these news!

That Starbucks announcement is crazy, I can barely resist my skepticism. I'd LOVE to see them adopting to an altcoin! Even if not Steem, it sounds refreshing they see beyond Bitcoin.

For Youtube, it's quite ironic to be affected by a crypto miner "exploit". I don't feel sorrow for them.

NEM tokens becoming traceable is an instant opt-out for me. That's an ideologic failure for me.

Finally, I'm sad for Tether. It was such a good opportunity.

Thanks for the great post @followbtcnews! I think it is very exciting that companies like Starbucks are looking at cryptocurrencies as a viable payment method - to me this is a great signal for the early days of mass adoption. I wonder what cryptos they will accept, or if the cryptocurrency that they will accept has even been created yet!

I'm also happy that the NEM that was stolen may be recoverable - although I did read that users will be compensated for the loss so that's good either way.

Thanks again for the post, i'll definitely be filling out the Starbucks form!

LETS GO STEEM!

Beyond coin-theft, what are your thoughts on whether cryptos are a bubble?

I really dont think its a bubble.. I think its like the internet in late 90's and just beginning :)

https://ideas.starbucks.com/ Let's go people..make your suggestions!

I choose "Order & Payment" or whatever that was. Hope that's suitable, too!
