Cryptocurrencies users look for means to exchange money in a fast, secure and anonymous fashion. And so do terrorists and criminals. Cryptocurrencies carry a real risk- when it is capable of providing absolute anonymous terrorism funding.
CSRA Inc., which works closely with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has confirmed that the U.S. government was monitoring bitcoin's progression since its initial development.
Adding to that, the U.S. government is not against cryptocurrencies invention in entirety. The U.S. government agencies seek only to disrupt cryptocurrencies with absolute anonymity- However, none has been found thus far. (Hmm...None... What about M & Z?)

Hence pseudonymous bitcoin can now scale in peace as it flies under government's radar.

The nature of pseudonymity of the public ledger would not attract terrorists and criminals to use bitcoin. But guess which mediums will?
