As the title says, if you have an ethereum wallet with a minimum balance of 0.1ETH you already have 777 INSP tokens, which have been automatically airdropped to your wallet.

Go to ETHERSCAN and enter your ethereum address (NOT YOUR PRIVATE KEY) and it will show you your token balance. I was casually checking mine and bang there was this mystery 777 SNP tokens in my balance ! (I also received some viuly tokens recently.) It's becoming a thing. a bit like Gbyte's Full Moon token spawning.

What is INSP ?

INSP is a promotional token for the upcoming ICO of INS. Confused ? Ok, I'll explain. The INS ecosystem claims to be the first BlockChain global decentralised ecosystem to connect grocery manufacturers and consumers. Sounds like they're trying to cut out the supermarkets, how does it work ? here's a handy infographic flow chart

CAN I SPEND THE TOKENS ?

No, you can't. If you read carefully, the tokens you got are 777 INS(P) meaning promotional.. ahhh, that old chestnut. You can spend them at the ICO to get a 5% discount for each token you spend, when buying INS tokens.. You can also send them to your mates so that they can use them. It's a novel way to get people interested in the project an an idea which may lead to the spamming up of your wallets in the very near future as others decide sending out promotional tokens for ICO discounts is a great IDEA.

388% Discount !! Not Quite

On first reading I thought GREAT I get 5% x 777 discount. that's 388% discount on some INS tokens. No it's not, read again, it's 5% per token on each sale, so if there's a 25% bonus on x day of the ICO you can spend an INS token to get 30%.. It's already sounding a bit of an anti-climax. ICO's regularly offer huge discounts / bonuses and extra tokens for early buy ins, but it is a marketing ploy and I now know who INS are !

INTERESTING (as a concept)

it's an interesting concept. I think it might have been better if you at least got something for ACTUAL free. It's basically a coupon. A book of coupons, like the ones where you get 5p / 5 cents off every £10 / $10 you spend.

DISRUPTOR ? perhaps

It looks like yet another consumer focused BC project. Apparently (according to their ICO website) hundreds of manufacturers are interested to join the ecosystem. Will it damage their relationships with the supermarkets.. not until everyone stops shopping there and buys direct.

I can buy my peanutbutter and detergent, direct from the factory ? mm, not sure that's particularly for me. (at the moment I'm on a super strict diet) no additives of any kind. I am interested in the farm to door veg box concept though. It's been quite successful and has other benefits. Locally grown and sourced seasonal veg is healthy, unprocessed and lacks carbon generating airmiles in transit. To be fair online shopping with delivery from the supermarket with a simple tick list on the smartphone is a really good service, especially with little ones to look after. What I'm wondering is will I really benefit from the manufacturers deals. I haven't read it properly yet but we're all getting used to bulk purchasing.

BULK PURCHASING ?

Perhaps I can get a years supply of toilet roll from the factory, delivered once every 3 months. (we're going to need a bigger cupboard) or perhaps they will deliver monthly. Let's hope I'm in when all these bulky items arrive. Oh yeah we have concierge service. Peter is going to love that, what with all the amazon, ebay and other online shopping parcels, white goods and electrical items to look after ;)

You tell someone like Abel & Cole what size family you are and they send you a seasonal box of veg every week. If you don't like leeks, you tell them and they send something you do like. It's become popular and there are plenty of other offerings where someone curates for you. A friend of a friend has a business doing the same with wine, in New York. My wife's friend at work gets a box of cosmetics delivered each month, for a set price. She gets random nail varnish and I think (quite a few) samples. It sounds profitable and for the customer a bit of excitement and novelty at the surprise. you can even do it with clothes.. REALLY >> ? apparently lots of men (& women) love that stuff. you just send back what you don't want. I do like shopping for my own clothes. I'm not sure the excitement factor will be there committing to a years worth of laundry detergent, but I'm just thinking it out in my head. I should be reading the small print.
