Walton team won their own contest

in crypto •  7 years ago

Walton (WTC) ran a contest for people to win some Walton coin and their own team members were among the winners. It appears that one such team member was logged into the Waltonchain Twitter account, realized they had won, and posted for the team (them?) to keep doing good work. Walton team claims that a team member was logged into the wrong account and was just excited to win...Oh and they deleted the post within minutes instead of acknowledging it happened until people started posted screen grabs.

While WTC never claimed that team members were excluded it makes the project look shady. How many other winners were team members? Overall I think WTC is a promising project, I don't own any, and I am following their progress. Stunts like this calls into question the integrity of the team, which is pretty important for crypto projects.

The market did not react well.

Ultimately, I think WTC will recover but they will have some uphill battles on their PR front. A lot of sell pressure today but I expect some people are sniping some discounted WTC. I'll continue to hold off on WTC for other projects until they make more progress and, after today, prove they are trustworthy again.
