Digital Accessibility is important because it allows users with visual, motor, hearing, and other impairments utilize technology effectively despite their barriers. I thought I'd share my thoughts on how Accessibility is as important or likely MORE IMPORTANT in technologies related to cryptocurrencies, in cryptocurrency wallets, exchanges, etc. The fact of the matter is that in order for crypto to be a feasible long-term solution as a currency or money exchange system, we need to ensure that we can include all citizens to whatever degree is possible and ensure we don't alienate anyone, or else adoption rates won't be as widespread and there will be legislative and social backlash to this lack of inclusion for a huge portion of the population.
About 2-3% of The Entire Population reports a visual disability and that is not to mention those who have other disabilities that create barriers to using technology (Erickson, W., Lee, C., von Schrader, S. (2016). Disability Statistics from the 2014 American Community Survey (ACS)). Companies like Level Access (formerly SSB BART Group - https://www.levelaccess.com/) and Deque (https://www.deque.com/) work with Software companies to help in training development teams on making Accessible products (more so training is carried out by Level Access) and even working directly to find and help with fixing issues in Accessibility within the Software company's products.
A Crypto Company that can nail digital accessibility will have something to brag about; providing great digital accessibility isn't about software being perfect, but rather about making sure you do your due diligence and give your best effort in ensuring that you make it accessible. It can be hard to catch everything and hard to account for all scenarios, but to make the effort attracts a large population of users that otherwise may not have interest because of the barriers involved. It wouldn't surprise me if large Cryptocurrency companies began working with Accessibility Remediation services such as Level Access in the coming years to ensure that they meet emerging regulations in the industry as well as provide a wonderful user experience for customers and users of their crypto.
I would hope that a successful company would want to cater to all people no matter their situation. Providing quality service will allow people to thrive and in turn the companies will be supported. At least until something comes along with better ideas. @biddle

Very important article. It's very true that it's important to assist those and pay proper attention to disabilities, especially for those struggling with a visual disability. Aside from paying proper attention, there are many low vision aids that can help with vision disabilities, and they are essentially glasses for the blind.
