The Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA) requires local crypto-exchangers to refuse to trade anonymous cryptocurrencies. It seems that the pressure of the Japanese regulator is working: in March, crypto-exchanger Coincheck has already announced the delisting of anonymous cryptocurrency Monero, Zcash and Dash.
Participants in transactions with such cryptocurrencies can not be tracked, so FSA believes that they are used for money laundering and other criminal purposes. Although there is no official ban on anonymous cryptocurrencies in Japan, Coincheck's behavior may serve as a signal for the rest of the crypto-instruments. A precedent on the largest cryptocurrency market will trigger a chain reaction in other countries.
At the same time, anonymous cryptocurrencies are very popular among users. Dash and Monero are at 12 and 13 places in terms of capitalization, and ZCash - 25.
